TRAINEE PRODUCT DEVELOPER Based in Bromley, Kent with 2-3 days WFH Salary to 21,000 RECENT SCHOOL COLLEGE or UNIVERSITY LEAVERS WOULD BE RECOMMENDED TO APPLY The role requires an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work within the product development team to assist in supporting and delivering new products, amendments to existing products and general bug fixes as and when required. A successful candidate will need a mix of hard skills including a strong skillset in Excel formulae, as well as soft skills such as communication, analytical thinking and problem-solving. A solutions-based mentality is required. Key Responsibilities: * Build new products to the agreed specification document * Make the relevant product changes to the agreed change request requirements * Make ad-hoc bug fixes to products as directed * Add new sites as requested with the relevant branding, making changes as required * Add and maintain Agent Groups and Users * Liaise with various stake holders including Underwriters, Project Managers and other parties * Effectively capture, understand, define and document business requirements * Report bugs and follow these through to delivery into the production system * Liaise internally to support design and sign off potential new functionalities * Implement and configure solution * Support the UAT process of configuration and of new functionalities * Train Clients / Partners to successfully hand over new products * Assist the business with product demonstrations as requested * Produce documentation to support new products / changes * Take a hands-on approach to trouble shooting * To complete ad hoc tasks as requested * To maintain a minimum 15 hours a Year Continuing Professional Development Ref 8446

Main Responsibilities: * Use RMS and various other tools to identify catastrophe exposure on an account and portfolio basis * Developing new tools to streamline the catastrophe modelling process and building out smarter analytics * Contribute to the creation of internal and external reports * Communicate risk metrics to key stakeholders * Develop an understanding of catastrophe modelling methodologies and natural hazards Skills and Experience: * Degree in an analytical discipline (Maths, Science, Engineering or Economics) * Highly numerate and logical – strong mathematical/statistical knowledge is advantageous * Good business communication skills – ability to influence, negotiate, and listen * Ability to manipulate large data sets with strong Excel skills. * Experience using Microsoft Power BI for analytics * Familiarity with MS SQL query language and/or other coding languages such as R and Python. * Quick to learn and able to turn their hand to a range of tasks * Outside the box problem solving with a passion for completing tasks * Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex ideas to a variety of audiences * Self-starter with a willingness to go beyond and push themselves * A keen attention to detail while able to work to tight deadlines ref 8432

Duties include: * Enter risk and policy data in to the Underwriting system(s) within the defined Service Level Agreements. * Ensure all risk and policy queries are communicated through the appropriate channels and responded to in a timely manner. * Upload bordereaux in to the TIDE system within the defined Service Level Agreement and escalate any queries through the appropriate channels. * Process unmatched USMs within the defined Service Level Agreements and escalate any issues through the appropriate channels. * Ensure all tasks are completed for month-end close. * Produce standard and ad-hoc reporting through the EDW ensuring these are accurate and fit for purpose. * Assist with credit control and provide support to the credit control team with aged debt and excess cash queries when required. * Attend team, departmental and divisional meetings to build, and maintain, internal relationships and continue understanding of the business. * Scan and store all documentation in to the document management storage folders as required. * Ensure that Underwriting files are complete and accurate. Obtain any outstanding items from the underwriting team. * Assist with, and drive forward, company projects as required. * Undertake other appropriate ad-hoc tasks as requested by the management team. * Report any suspicion of financial crime to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer immediately. * Operate within the Company’s standards for Treating Customers Fairly. * Advise Compliance of any complaints immediately.
