Advanced knowledge of Excel. Word and PowerPoint to a reasonable standard. TRAINEE CATASTROPHE ANALYST CITY c£20,000 Leading Lloyds syndicate based in the City of London is seeking to recruit a Trainee to join its busy team. The Catastrophe Analyst may be required to work over a number of lines of business but will be focused on the Marine portfolio encompassing Cargo and Specie lines of business. They will model exposures using external modelling tools, such as RMS, so as to facilitate the pricing and underwriting of business and the monitoring of aggregate accumulations. Full Training will be provided to the successful candidate. Duties and accountabilities ·Use third party catastrophe models and in-house tools to assist in production of quarterly divisional reports ·Use third party catastrophe models and in-house tools for pre-underwriting analysis ·Provide ad hoc reports for underwriting portfolio analysis ·Build and maintain a strong relationship with divisional underwriters ·Be able to use intuitive to improve on current processes and in-house tools Technical skills/Knowledge/Experience ·Possess a strong academic record to A Level standard or equivalent ·Demonstrate the ability to use MS Office applications such as Word and Excel, or be willing to undertake the necessary training.
