TRAINEE MI ANALYST to 20,000 City based Lloyds Syndicate is seeking to recruit a Trainee Analyst to provide management information in accordance with monthly and quarterly reporting timetables. To assist with the development of internal reporting capabilities. Provision of expertise across range of IT related systems. To assist with the ongoing review and development of internal control environment encompassing data governance, data lineage and data validations. 1.Effective assistance and liaison with the MIS Manager to manage current MIS services so that they are accurate, stable and robust and meet the needs of business. 2.To manage and develop reports and services to support business needs involving building queries, views, objects and testing reports. Development of new and enhancing existing reports using SQL and reporting services 3.Gathering reporting requirements and subsequent production of MIS reports on a timely and prioritised basis 4.Assistance with the maintenance of MIS IT infrastructure and effective support and liaison with London IT including the provision of technical assistance with MIS Databases and Applications 5.Assist with the development of standards for reporting in terms of format, definitions and specifications. 6.Manage the analysis of data / reporting issues, engaging with other teams, understanding and resolving issues at the root cause. Record and regularly report on data / reporting issues. Essential: Good knowledge of Excel (tables, pivot tables, charts, VBA macros, PowerPivot & PowerView) Desirable: Skilled in Microsoft SQL Server especially T-SQL, SSRS and SSISAn understanding of BI, datawarehousing and reporting concepts Good knowledge of IT applications such as Microsoft Office & SharePoint An understanding of the Lloyds/London Insurance market encompassing market/industry processes and terminology a distinct advantage This would suit a school/college leaver with A Level/BTEC in IT/ICT.
