EMPLOYEE BENEFITS LEAD An opportunity for an experienced candidate in the London office of a global company has arisen. The Group is split into two parts, the first being an aggregated insurance buying programme that delivers portfolio benefits to investee companies of Private Equity firms (private equity, infrastructure, pension and sovereign wealth funds) and second, an MGA with delegated underwriting authority from multiple insurers. You’ll work within the Insurance Facility team where you will establish a broad based, global Insurance buying programme, focusing on Employee Benefits (Medical, Life, Income Protection), Workers Comp and Accident & Health. Your responsibilities will require you to: Initially, develop a feasibility study to identify the size and scope of the opportunity in Employee Benefits space Identify one or two partner brokers to help develop the strategy Select a panel of preferred insurers who can underwrite these risks globally / regionally Work with the Insurance Facility team to agree priority clients and prospects, whilst leveraging the platform. Your existing experience and relationships within the Employee Benefits arena, partnered with your ability to manage workstreams will be well utilised. Additional experience in broking and underwriting will be beneficial in this role. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills, be a highly motivated, proactive and resilient individual. You will demonstrate sound business judgement and possess strong interpersonal skills which will give you the ability to deal and negotiate with brokers, insurers and clients, both internal and external. Senior Risk Engineer City of London Salary to 100,000 Overall Role: Deliver client service through performing insurance risk surveys of clients' facilities and preparation of detailed written reports with improvement recommendations for the international reinsurance market. Also, by reviewing, interpreting and summarising third party technical risk information (desk job risk analysis). The job holder will be responsible for providing engineering technical support to; Account Executives, the Claims Department, and Insurance Risk Seminars Key Accountabilities: Client Management • Identifies and manages client requirements in accordance with the terms of appointment • Lead plant surveys and present improvement recommendations at Plant Director level • Builds and maintains strong client relationships • Meet client day-to-day demands and escalates servicing issues to divisional management Report/Technical Writing • Provide expertise for reports, proposals, specials studies, articles and client documentation • Provide timely and accurate detailed engineering reports with improvement recommendations for the international insurance market Client Servicing • Manage clients' and underwriters' requirements and maintain the client relationship • Clients receive a quality of service that adds value • Investigates and resolves complaints and service failure • Holding client and internal training seminars as well as developing, improving and implementing industry best practice guidelines • Ensure that clients' business and operational risks are identified and assessment and interpretation is undertaken regularly Essential Experience: Fluent in French Petro-chemical engineer Required to travel to Algeria, Morocco, Sudan, Egypt, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Senegal as well as other European countries. Possess a process safety engineer background. Desirable Experience: Energy insurance background, or combination of Energy insurance and industrial experience Qualifications Masters degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical) (or similar technical degree) Certified both MIST and BOSIET trainings (Desirable) Chartered Engineer by a reputed UK Institute (Desirable) Master or specific trainnings in Process Safety and or Fire Engineering (Desirable) Knowledge and Skills Technical Knowledge Profound expertise in loss prevention and loss control for a broad range of industries (Petrochemical processes, Oil&Gas processes (Upstream and Downstream), Power Plants…etc. Experience or strong interest in loss prevention topics (e.g. Process hazards; Personal hazards; Fire Protection…etc.) Sound knowledge of international Industry codes and standards (e.g. API, ASME, ANSI or equivalent) Sound knowledge of Process Hazards Analysis methods (e.g. HAZOP, SIL, or equivalent) Sound knowledge of international loss prevention/fire protection standards (e.g. NFPA, FM or equivalent) At least proficiency level French (mandatory) At least proficiency level English (mandatory) – other language skills desirable Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Strong negotiation and presenting skills Proficient computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office products) Willingness to travel worldwide
