Small Lloyds Broker based in the City are seeking an experienced Claims individual who has experience handling PI/FI North American claims with the use of ECF and CLASS.

Applicants are expected to have good working knowledge of North American Open Market claims.

Experience and Essential Skills

·Professional in own functional area with at least 5 years' relevant work experience

·Good understanding of London market claims procedures

·Good working knowledge of CLASS system

·Good understanding of regulatory requirements

Job overview and responsibilities

The role will require collaboration with directors, colleagues, team members and external parties. It will involve co-operating on the development of new practices and applying them, particularly in terms of internal process effectiveness, client-oriented processes and ensuring achievement of targets.

Your responsibilities will cover the following areas:

·Managing the claims function, providing a clear leadership while delegating accountabilities appropriate to the department, ensuring that all members of the team achieve their own objectives

·Provision of professional advice to members, senior management and departments of the organisation on all aspects of insurance practice and law, including preparation of reports and advice notes as required

·Responsibility for the administration of all insurance claims and associated queries

·Liaising with insurers, loss adjusters, solicitors, brokers, claimants or their representatives, relevant departments

·Dealing with distressed or aggrieved claimants face to face and over the telephone

·Negotiating the settlement of claims with leading insurers and/or bureaux and/or companies

·Ensuring that claims are treated as a priority and to be responsible for a quick turnaround of claims information to the market or clients respectively

·Developing information with particular regard to allowing proper risk analysis to be undertaken

·Attending meetings and seminars relating to insurance, and alerting senior management to developments in the field of insurance particularly as it affects the industry sector in which the organisation operates

·Generating own correspondence on contentious issues

·Effecting training/briefing sessions for staff at all levels

·Reviewing claims procedures with Insurers and Brokers

·Effecting recoveries against third parties

·Liaising with the operational staff whenever necessary including receipt of claims settlements
