The role will be to assist in growing the book of business for the Property team

Salary up to £75,000 depending on knowledge and experience

An independent, international insurance and reinsurance Lloyd's broker with headquarters in London and offices worldwide. Truly international with expertise in all major insurance classes, employing 300 people of 20 nationalities fluent in 16 languages.



Key Duties:

Broking Operations Management

·Supervision of all aspects of broking operations within the Division to meet performance targets

·Supervising and monitoring renewal lists/progress of renewals.

·Highlight deficiencies in broking operations and recommends action to be taken.

·Investigates and resolves complaints and service failures.

·Develops and maintains market relationships to permit the widest placing opportunities



Quoting, Placement and Post Contract Alteration

·Analyse and provide advice on risk and insurance issues and structure appropriate coverage.

·Market presentations secure best possible terms for the client, with full material disclosure.

·Negotiates and obtains the most appropriate carrier, coverage and price for the clients' requirements.

·Resolves subjectivities and warranties in accordance with client/insurer instructions to secure underwriters' participation.

·Negotiates agreement to post-placement changes, e.g. by contract endorsement.



Market and Client relationships

·Develops and maintains market relationships to permit the widest placing opportunities

·Client Management - Identifies and manages client requirements in accordance with the terms of appointment

·Builds and maintains strong client relationships

·Achieves a high rate of client retention through account renewal management

·Ensures there are sufficient resources to meet client day-to-day demands and escalates servicing issues to divisional management as necessary

·Meet with clients and run meetings as required

·Assist in the development of production to help generate new business opportunities.



Key Knowledge and Skills

·Market and industry structure and operation, including regulation and current market practices

·London/International market experience preferably in broking.

·Exposure to large international corporations.

·MUST HAVE fluent French

·Experience of African business is very desirable.

·Extensive Lloyds experience - end to end broking process

·Basic management experience.

·Minimum technical insurance: CertCII or equivalent.

·Sector specific risks and insurance products/solutions

·Risk analysis

·Slip drafting and Approval

·Analysis and interpretation of management information

·Market and Client Negotiation and Servicing

·Managing operational risk
