Insurance Operations Technician

For this role we require a min of 1-2 years Insurance experience in any area of Insurance with solid Excel skills. Full training will be provided.. Insurance Operations Technician to support the team and the wider business with all matters relating to the processing of risk and premium bordereaux data. This role is responsible for working on delegated and transactional business, working with cover holders to resolve queries, business units across various locations and reporting to our capacity providers. This is based in the Chelmsford office. 2 days in the office and the rest from home remotely Drawing on an array of personal and professional skills, you will juggle multiple priorities to process all relevant data, working to deadlines each month as well as supporting process improvements. Your Role: * Coordinate and liaise with our offshore team regarding the processing (from a data and accounting entry point of view) of the risk and premium bordereaux being sent in by our cover holders each month; * Work with underwriters and cover holders to resolve data queries raised in trying to process the bordereaux through our systems; * Work with Pen IBA to resolve accounts queries and to maintain acceptable levels of unallocated cash to Pen and/ or carriers; * Create Excel reports (risk bordereaux and payables/premium bordereaux) to send on to our carriers; * Suggest and support the implementation of process improvements; * Process mailmerges for Pen Underwriting PA/Travel team; Your Skills, Experience and Qualifications: * Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPS and pivot tables); * Keen to learn and happy picking up new concepts quickly; * Build good rapport and comfortable picking up the phone to liaise with underwriters and cover holders regarding data queries; * Logical approach and capable of understanding data validations/data behaviour concepts quickly; * Willingness to be trained and work remotely; * Ability to take ownership of processes and issues end to end from investigation to resolution; * Insurance experience essential. Responsible for the processing and routine supervision of; pre-inception and post-placement documentation in support of placement, premium and credit control, file and record management, perform various broker back up roles, check signatory for slips and endorsements and initiate renewal negotiations with clients and underwriters. Document Production and Processing * Produce documentation, for both Hull and P&I, to support the negotiation and placement of contracts of insurance including Electronic Platforms * Produces endorsements (or equivalent documentation), which meet the clients requirements * Timely and accurate generation and issue of cover notes, addenda and debit/credit notes. * Produces evidence of insurance/certificates/Letters of Undertaking for third parties on clients’ instructions Premium Processing Process original and adjusted premium to companies and bureaux Desirable experience: * Market experience with a broker, underwriter or bureaux / Xchanging. Knowledge and skills * Market and industry structure and operation, including regulatory awareness * Technical insurance to CertCII, or equivalent experience * Sector specific risks and insurance products/solutions * IT literacy in Word, Outlook and Excel (Intermediate) * Client servicing * Accuracy and thoroughness • Time management and prioritisation * Core IT systems. Processing Technician - to 40,000 City with Flexible WFH available 2/3 days City based Lloyds Broker is seeking to recruit an experienced Technician with the ability to handle all their technical processing. Responsible for producing and processing post placement documentation, processing premium, credit control and file and record management. Working day to day with broking/client advisory team to ensure excellent client service is maintained. Timely and accurate production of evidence of covers, debit notes and endorsements (or equivalent documentation) which comply with current market practice to satisfy client requirements. Reviews documents at key stages to ensure accuracy and completeness for subsequent processing. Process original and additional/return premiums. Generates the correct market closing documentation and submits premium to the company market and bureau (DXC). Preferred experience in a role that requires accuracy and attention to detail.
